Do You Have Imposter Syndrome?

Have you ever felt unqualified for Jesus to use you?

I have.

When I look at my weaknesses and circumstances it makes me want to hold back from doing what God told me to do.

(Some call this “imposter syndrome.)

In Exodus Ch. 3 & 4, the prophet Moses experienced this.

When called by God to deliver Israel from Pharoah, he made multiple excuses for why he wasn’t equipped to do it.

Exodus 4:10-12
Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”

The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”

Are you like Moses? Do you give God all the reasons in the world as to why you’re not qualified to do what He told you?

I believe God wants to give you and I a message similar to what He gave Moses in the verses above.

Let us go forward in answering God’s call, and put our confidence in Jesus. He will not let us fail!

Psalm 125:1
A song of ascents. Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
